輔導僑商創業學程-麵食糕點及台灣小吃製作班」招生

【招生簡訊】
為協助海外僑胞學習中西點心製作技術作為創業基礎，僑務委員會將於2010年辦理「輔導僑商創業學程-麵食糕點及台灣小吃製作班」系列研習活動，計開設「中式糕餅」、「西式糕點」、「傳統麵食」、「台灣小吃」4種可供僑胞在海外創業之課程，專業實作課程由台中「弘光科技大學」承辦，各班期自12月25日起接受報名。研習時間及報名日期如下：
1. 中式糕餅製作班（2010年3月8日至3月19日）；報名截止日期2010年1月22日。
2. 西式糕點製作班（2010年3月22日至4月2日）；報名截止日期2010年2月5日。
3. 傳統麵食製作班（2010年4月12日至4月23日）；報名截止日期2010年3月5日。
4. 台灣小吃製作班（2010年4月26日至5月7日）；報名截止日期2010年3月19日。
僑務委員會將負擔研習課程及材料費用，參加的僑胞則自行負擔往返交通費用及研習期間之膳、宿費用；招生對象為25歲以上非在學之海外僑胞，有意在僑居地創業者，請洽我國駐外館處或華僑文教服務中心報名，並可至僑務委員會網站(www.ocac.gov.tw)「華僑經貿投資/僑商研習園地/開班訊息」下載招生簡章及報名表件。

Happy New Year! TAA-Pittsburgh Association has arranged a get-together to celebrate Chinese New Year on Feb. 6, 2010 at Dynasty International Buffet at 11:00 am.

All adult lunch buffet Price includes tax and tips but not drinks.

Adult (11 years and older) $10.50 (add $0.50 for tea)

All children's lunch buffet include tax and tips are welcome

曾偉霖車禍亡 捐器官遺愛人間

[賓州匹茲堡訊]匹茲堡郵報日前報導，匹茲堡大學華裔學生曾偉霖（Robert Tseng）本月23日深夜開車撞樹後當場死亡。賓州阿勒堅尼郡法醫根據初步資料指出，曾偉霖可能是為了躲避鹿隻肇事。


23歲的曾偉霖，是在匹茲堡北邊韋克斯福德市（Wexford）Lucky中餐館東主曾錫隆與程麗燕的次子。他個性開朗，笑臉常開，從小就幫忙父母在中餐館工作，非常孝順父母。


據指出，曾偉霖於2005年自北阿勒堅尼高中畢業後，原本打算去加州唸大學。因慮及花費太大，加上餐館沒有幫手，父母工作很辛苦，讀了一學期即轉回匹茲堡大學就讀，課餘在餐館幫忙父母，眼看即將自匹茲堡大學商學院畢業，並已謀得工作將分擔父母經濟重擔，卻突然因車禍去世，令親友無不扼腕歎惜。


曾偉霖生前同意死後捐贈大體器官，他的眼角膜與皮膚等已捐出，遺愛人間。其兄日前為他舉辦追思會，有近400中外親友參加，家屬希望大家如要紀念曾偉霖，可捐贈慈濟基金會，支票可寄至：TZU-CHI Foundation, 1333 Banksville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216。 [張瓊月]
